Brief essay which describes the immense cultural changes after World War I that have created a renewed interest in film, particularly among the educated classes, according to author. Film producers have not yet woken up to this change, as they continue to make films for audiences of yesteryear ("vormärzlich”). Author sees the future of cinema in what he calls Naturfilm, i.e. everything that has not been arranged ("gestellt"). Only this type of cinema is able to attract the erstwhile enemies of film.
